This three-day “National Level Seminar” on “Strategic Management for Bankers” was held in collaboration with the Agricultural Bank of Sudan and Industrial Development Bank of Sudan for benefit of Sudanese Banks.

IDB/IRTI has provided the resource person, Dr. Osman Babiker Ahmed, who had covered the following titles in the Seminar:

Corporate Governance in Banking, Corporate Governance in Islamic Banking, Challenges Facing Banks, Managing Bank Risk, Hedging in Banking, Deposit Protection in Banking, Short-term Asset Concentration in Banking and Factors Affecting Performance and Profitability Banks. The seminar was conducted in Arabic.

There were 22 participants from 11 banks five of which were members and 6 were non members namely; Agricultural Bank of Sudan, Industrial Development Bank of Sudan, Omdurman National Bank, El-Nilein Industrial Development Bank of Sudan, Financial Investment Bank of Sudan, (Members); Central Bank of Sudan, Sudanese French Bank, Sudanese Savings Bank, Export Development Bank, Sudanese Islamic Bank, Farmer’s Commercial Bank (Non-members).

At the end of the Seminar, Br. Usman Muhammad Ahmed Mubassher, Managing Director of Agricultural Bank of Sudan, Br. Mohamed Zein A/Rahim, Deputy General Manager of Agricultural Bank of Sudan, and Br. Nuri Birtek, ADFIMI Secretary General delivered their general assessment and concluding speeches.
