Cooperation Agreement Between Two ADFIMI Members

Türk Eximbank and QDB sign cooperation agreement

The Export Credit Bank of Türkiye and Qatar Development Bank (QDB), the national development bank that also carries out export financing, development and promotion, through its export agency (Tasdeer), signed a cooperation agreement focusing on insurance/guarantees and reinsurance transactions during the Berne Union Annual Meeting in Hamburg on October 15-17, 2024.

The agreement is aimed to provide credit/ insurance, and guarantees for exports of goods and services of Turkish and Qatari companies for projects to be realized jointly in third countries. The agreement envisions offering conventional financing options as well as those compliant with interest-free banking principles under the umbrella of the lead export credit agency to be determined on a case-by-case basis. The agreement seeks to enhance access to additional financing sources for our companies, allowing them to be more competitive in joint projects undertaken in third countries.

In addition to QDB, Türk Eximbank also has reinsurance agreements concluded with export credit agencies from the US, the UK, France, Denmark, Austria, Sweden, Hungary, and Poland, and continues to negotiate similar strategic partnerships with other export credit agencies, regional/multilateral financial institutions, and banks to further accelerate its support to our country’s exports.
