As you may be aware, CIBFM is organising BRUNEI ISLAMIC INVESTMENT SUMMIT 2017 (BIIS 2017) on 2 - 3 August 2017.

This event will be honoured with the Royal Patronage by His Royal Highness Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Ibni Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, as Chairman of the Board of Directors, Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam.

A keynote presentation entitled “Sukuk-Traditional and Innovative Strategies” will be delivered by Sheikh Esam M Ishaq, Member of The High Council of Islamic Affairs, Government of Bahrain.  

A number of international and local experts will speak at the Summit, including  Yang Mulia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Metussin bin Haji Baki, Member of the Board of Directors of AMBD and Member of the Syariah Financial Services Board; Datuk Dr. Mohd Daud bin Bakar, Founder and Group Chairman of, Amanie Advisors; Professor Dr. Obiyathulla Ismath Bacha, Professor of Finance and the Head of the Graduate Studies Department of the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF); and Dr. Mohd Hairul Azrin bin Haji Besar, Member of the National Shariah Financial Supervisory Board and a Member of the Board of Directors of CIBFM.

The conference will provide a beneficial platform for the scholars and experts to exchange views and experiences as well as to discuss the challenges and latest issues on Global Islamic Finance. Furthermore, the conference will provide a platform to bring together Islamic Bankers, Fund Managers, Shariah Scholars, Shariah Advisors, Academics, Regulators and other experts. We are expecting more than two hundred participants from both public and private sectors – aspiring industry leaders, innovators, government officials and others.  Additionally, there will be a number of VIP guests from government, business, and academia, including several government Ministers and Deputy Ministers.
