Turkey’s largest state-controlled bank, Ziraat Bank announced YTL 781 million is gross profits for the first quarter of 2007, which corresponds to net profits of YTL 610 million. The bank’s total assets exceed YTL 74 billion and its loans exceed YTL 17.8 billion.  Ziraat Bank’s total agricultural loan volume reached YTL 4 billion, small and medium size enterprise (SME) loans increased by 87 percent in the first quarter of 2007 compared to the first quarter of 2006.
