ADFIMI’s Special Seminar on ''International Financial Reporting Standards'' was held in World Park Hotel, İstanbul-Turkey from 18 to 20 August 2008.

The resource person of the seminar was Br. Oğuz Kemal Bulut, Managing Partner, MGI Bağımsız Denetim ve Danışmanlık AŞ, Turkey

The seminar included all standards and their related interpretations. Each section of the seminar provided an overview of the perspective and key issues associated with the topics covered; a listing of the professional pronouncements that guide practice; and a detailed discussion of the concepts and accompanying examples. A comprehensive bacgkround following the main concepts of each standard which would offer practical guidance to prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS were explained during the seminar. The seminar included a revised, detailed, comparison between IFRS and US national GAAP as well.

Participants appreciated the arrangements and found the seminar beneficial for their work.
