A Comparative Study on Microfinance Practices
ABOUT THE PROGRAMME MANAGER
Dr. Hatice P. Jenkins is an Associate Professor at the Department of Banking and Finance, Eastern Mediterranean University in Gazimagusa, North Cyprus. She specializes in the fields of banking, financial sector policy reform, and microenterprise finance.
After completing her Ph.D. degree in Bradford University, Assoc. Prof. Hatice Jenkins joined to Maxwell Stamp Plc, an international consulting company based in London. In 1992, she became the Program Manager of a UNDP/ UNIDO Project based in Colombo, in Sri Lanka where she provided advisory services on economics, applied research and training to the Ministry of Industries for two years.
Between the years 1994-2000 she worked for the Harvard Institute for International Development (HIID), Harvard University in USA, where she was the founding director of an Executive Program on micro and small enterprise finance, namely, Financial Institutions for Private Enterprise Development (FIPED). During her employment at Harvard University she also worked on USAID, ADB, and Fulbright funded international advisory projects and training programs in Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Egypt and Mexico.
Assoc. Prof. Hatice Jenkins has also worked as an advisor on SME finance for the Ministry of Economy in North Cyprus. She supervised 16 masters thesis and has a number of published articles in cited international journals.
