    Seminar on ''A Comparative Study on Microfinance Practices'', 17-19 November 2008, İstanbul-Turkey
     
     

    ADFIMI’s Seminar on ‘A Comparative Study on Microfinance Practices’ was held in Istanbul from 17-19 November 2008. The seminar was conducted by Assoc.Prof. Dr. Hatice Jenkins, head of Banking and Finance Department at the Eastern Mediterranean University in North Cyrus. Five lecturers (from Accion , USA; Alexandria Businessmen Association, Egypt; Grameen Bank, Bangladesh; Cenral Bank, The Sudan; Islamic Development Bank) talked on microfinance experiences in Latin American Countries, Bangladesh, Egypt, Sudan, Guinea, Palestine. There were 22 participants from 9 countries. Importance of Microfinance for developing countries and modus operandi of microfinance systems were discussed in detail. Seminar was co-sponsored by TCO/IDB. Presentations available to members:
